Who We Are
The history of Rawly-Mae Farm
In 2020, our family purchased a horse as our children began riding horses at a very young age, and then soon after we purchased a pony as well. Unfortunately, the property we owned was not sufficient enough for us to safely house a horse due to living on a hillside. In June 2021, we made the decision to look for a farm and began searching real estate listings. Within an hour we located a 15 acre farm listed for sale in a location that we wanted to be in. The location was in a good area for our jobs, secluded yet close to everything, and our neighbors, (Northfield Vineyards, Medley Acres at Northfield, and everyone in the Ray Cemetery community) welcomed us like family. So in September of 2021, we sold our first house, one we built on family land as newlyweds in 2013, and started the farm life. We registered the farm under the name Rawly-Mae Farm, naming the farm after our 2 children.
Our children's love for horses and their eagerness to participate in youth barrel races and pole events moved us to purchase a couple of barrel ponies for them, Dutty and Yogi. In March of 2022, we purchased a 10 month old "bucking" bull named Gus, a miniature dexter bull calf for my son for his birthday, a couple of goats, and a couple of donkies. That's when it all started. Next thing you know we become registered livestock dealers and began investing in mini cows, ponies, donkies, and horses for resale. A few of these animals we have rescued from poor conditions and poured some love into them. Nothing has been more rewarding than seeing a mistreated animal happy and healthy in their new forever homes. As we purchase fur babies to sell, some never leave the farm as our family falls in love with them and refuses to let them leave. Currently, Rawly-Mae Farm is a forever home to a couple ponies (Dutty and Yogi), a horse (PoPo), mini cows (Gus, Smokey, Nessie, Nellie, and Ida), mini donkeys (PJ, Hank, and Ms. Hunny), goats, a pig (Mr. Butters), chickens, and a llama (Neil). In the past, sheep, rabbits, mules, and alpacas have also called Rawly-Mae Farm home.
We are quickly approaching our first year in this business and have been overwhelmed at times with the huge demand of this market. We have learned many lessons this past year as we deal with rising costs on everything, scammers, and learning how to care for each of these animals. Our farm is constantly expanding operations by upgrading equipment, housing, and tools needed to allow more animals to come to our farm. We have been overwhelmed by the number of folks who follow us on social media, have been understanding with us as we make mistakes, and have helped us grow this little farm. We loving seeing happy faces as we deliver fur babies to their new forever homes and watching them as they adapt to their new families.
God has blessed us during this process and is continually teaching us new lessons. This is the first chapter of our story. Follow us as we begin writing the second chapter.
